It was a beautiful day to run the Greater Flint Championship in Mt. Morris. The athletes’ dedication to their training is showing excellent results. The girls placed 4th out of 26 teams, but 2nd in their division. They are committed to making the championship season one to remember! The girls had some outstanding personal records, Josie Jenkinson 19:39, Libby Summerland 20:10, Julionna West 20:36, and Claire Agnew with a 22:27. Emma Johnson and Brieanna Wood were very close to personal records as they helped lead their team to an awesome 2nd place finish. The boys finished 17 out of 21 teams. Again we had some impressive personal records, Jack Smith broke into the 17s with a 17:49 and Corey Gates with a 18:50. In addition to the OHS XC, we had 5 OMS students join us at Mt. Morris, Max Baade (12:37), Bryce Davis (12:41), Emma Crandell (14:35), Mia Lentz (16:22), and Caroline Harper (17:30).   Owosso was ready to compete at the second Jamboree for the Flint Metro League with many ambitious athletes!  All athletes had outstanding performances running on a muddy course!  The girls moved up one spot from the first jamboree to second place out of the 12 teams! Earning spots toward first team All-Conference for their performance were Josie Jenkinson who took 5th place and Libby Summerland who took 8th place.  Earning spots toward second team All-Conference were Julionna West (11th) and Emma Johnson (14th). Claire Agnew and Brieanna Wood also achieved their personal records helping their team to finish in 2nd place.  The boys took 10th out of 12 teams at the Jamboree, and are continuing to make excellent progress.  All the boys achieved their personal records, Jack Smith (18:15), Corey Gates (19:25), Sam Perry (21:32), Zachary Wieler (21:55), Charlie Agnew (21:57), and Charlie Nolph (23:35).  Way to go Trojans!
