CENTRAL MONTCALM HIGH SCHOOL: 2
The Owosso wrestling team competed at the Central Montcalm Duals today. We started out the day competing against a tough Fremont team and lost 57-24. We bounced back strong with a victory over Cedar Springs 42-33 and another win against Newaygo 66-9. Going 2-1 in our pool we were wrestling for third place in the tournament. We had a very exciting match with Grant, but fell on the short side of victory 39-40. Going undefeated for the day was Joey Devaras, Nathan Mariutza, Colton Blaha, and Dominic Patterson. The boys wrestled with a lot of heart today. I was impressed with Peyton Frederick, he went 2-2 for the day, but he wrestled his tail off. Great day for the Trojans. Our over all record now stands at 6-5 for the season.
