The boys competed hard today and I was proud of the effort they showed. We had to overcome a few challenges with the lineup and I was very happy with the response of the boys. The boys will be back in action next Tuesday in the FML opener at Kearsley HS at 4 PM.
Our girls' team was able to finish in 5th place out of 12 teams today and had a number of great performances. Senior captain Lexi Martenis showed off her improve speed with three 2nd place finishes on the day. She ran a personal record 13.41 into a strong head win in the 100m dash, jumped a personal record 15' 3", coming up just 1/4 of an inch short of the winner, and helped the 4x100m relay team run a respectable 53.58. Also earning medals for the Trojans were pole vaulters Allie Pumford (4th place) and Alaina Poggiali with vaults of 7'6" and 7'0", freshman long jumper Haley Mickle (6th place) with a jump of 13'8", high jumper Katie Clevenger (5th place) with a jump of 4'9", and Malyrie Montroy (6th place) with a 100m time of 13.76.
