Freshman Libby Summerland continued to drop time on Saturday on her way to a 15th overall finish in the Greater Flint Championship Meet, just 1 place (and 2 seconds) off of earning her first medal. Her time of 21:31 amounted to a 43 second personal best time for Libby. However, it was big sister and captain Emily Summerland that had the most impressive day. Emily's 22:37 marked a 58 second season record and 23 second personal record from two years ago when she was a sophomore. Emma Perry also had a huge day with a 55 second season record of her own. Unfortunately, our 4 injured girls on the team didn't help our overall team place as we were only able to finish 7th out of 10 teams. In the boys race junior captain Jack Smith led the way again for Owosso. Due to a timing error, times were not able to be recorded for the boys race and places were the only results we were able to get. Therefore, although we had strong races from many of our boys, we are not sure who was able to turn in season or personal record times. Our boys finished tied for 8th place out of 10 teams.
