Owosso Girls Varsity Basketball outlast Durand to the win the district final, 34-29.
In a game where scoring was at a premium, it was the Trojans defense that stood tall at the end. The Tojans got out to a 11-9 lead after the first quarter. Reese Thayer and Lexi Hemker both hit 3's to spark the Trojans. Durand answered in the second took a 6 point lead before the the Trojans closed it to 1, trailing 19-18 at the half. Neither team could get much going in the 3rd quarter and headed to fourth tied at 23. Skotti Ball-Duley got it going in fourth scoring 6 and knocking down 2 free throws to seal the game.
Oustanding effort and resilience from this group, they battled injuries, fouls, and never quit on each other.
