Owosso led by DeWeese Stings Kearsley Hornets with OT Victory

 

What a great night tonight at Willman Field where the Owosso Trojans hosted the Kearsley Hornets in their first round district matchup.

 

Kearsley scored in the first half to go up on the Trojans.  Owosso controlled the tempo most of the game but were unable to capitalize on their multiple opportunities.

 

With three minutes left senior captain Isaac DeWeese took a beautiful pass on a through ball perfectly placed by senior Noah Jafri and placed it in the back of the goal.

 

In the first minute of overtime Isaac DeWeese scored his second goal off of a great feed by freshman Hunter Babcock.  DeWeese iced the victory with a third goal on a forced turnover by junior Avery Fear.

 

Brennan Baron played a great game in goal for Owosso.  The defensive excellence of senior captain Jacob Wood kept the Hornets in check.   Exceptional efforts by Avery Fear in the midfield helped Owosso control the game. 

 

Great effort by all the Trojans as they prepare to meet Fenton in the District Semi Finals on Tuesday at 6PM at Willman Field.
