Owosso XC traveled to Ledge Meadows Golf Course in Grand Ledge on Saturday to compete in the Greater Lansing Championship. There were 39 schools invited to the race and 219 finishers. We were only able to compete with 4 runners today though, disqualifying us from placing as a team as at least 5 runners must finish in order to get a team score. Libby and Natalie Summerland were unable to compete this weekend and Onna West took 1 more meet off to heal and prep for the final 2-3 weeks of the season. However, Josie Jenkinson was still able to earn a 23rd place medal with a time of 19:49; just 2 seconds from her season best time. Josie is competing well and is poised to have a great finish to the season. Emma Crandell also managed to finish just 2 seconds away from her personal best time at 20:22, just 4 places shy of a top 30 medal. Claire Agnew finished 109th with a time of 22:28 and Emma Johnson was 137th with a time of 23:24.

Next week will be a big week for the girls as they will compete in the Flint Metro League Championship on Wednesday and the Shiawassee County Championship on Saturday; both at Corunna High School. We are now just 2 weeks away from regionals where we will look to put everything together in an attempt to qualify for the state finals.
