Owosso Soccer nabbed its first victory, tonight, with a 4-2 win over Lansing Eastern. Our team implemented a new formation and had players step into new roles, especially our lone center backs (Claudia Drake and Jillian Klaver). This is the best Eastern team we have faced since coaching for Owosso; an element of adversity that will better prepare us for Wednesday’s home opener against Corunna. Strong midfield play was consistently exhibited by Lauren Stowe and Claire Drake. Tonight’s stat leaders were Autumn Merrihew (3 assists) and Drake (2 goals). Our team established strong passing combinations and were able to quickly overcome setbacks that arose throughout the game. We look forward to a great game at Willman Stadium against our crosstown rivals.
