Owosso Soccer played a strong Senior Night match, but suffered a tough 0-3 loss to Brandon. We were excited to start the game with a Brieanna Wood kick off, since she hasn't been able to at all this season due to a knee injury. Although it was one only kick, it was bittersweet to see her back on the pitch. We only had 2 shots on goal, but 8 other breakout opportunities that stopped by the opposition. Brooklyn Fields and Liz McCroan had several chances that were quelled by Brandon. Brandon's only first half goal came from a PK given from a handball in the box. Their team went on to score 2 second half goals. 

For the majority of the game, our defense maintained a solid back line formation, making shooting opportunities difficult for Brandon. Grace Perry and Mallory Dennis continue to step with their physical presence in the center back position. Our opponent moved the ball around the field, while our transition attack was focused more on sending our forwards into running space. Our midfielders worked hard to keep the Brandon pressure at bay, highlighted by the hustle of Leah Miller. 

Owosso Keeper Lily Usher made 10 saves tonight, while halting numerous other shooting opportunities. She is now 3 saves away from becoming the MHSAA Girls Soccer Career Saves Leader. 

We are so grateful for the hard work and memories our Seniors have shown over the years. A big shout out to: Mallory Dennis, Brooklyn Fields, Samantha Harris, Leah Miller, Grace Perry, Monae Pettigrew, Olivia Savage, Lily Usher, and Brieanna Wood.
