Owosso Cross Country kicked off the Flint Metro League season with strong performances by Jorden Sowash (Boys' Race, 2nd), Mason Collard (Boys' Race, 14th) and Mirranda Libbey (Girls' Race, 9th). Our team looks to beat the heat this Saturday, as times will undoubtedly drop at the morning Bath Invitational.

Sam Roose knocked through a 36 yard field goal on Thursday as Owosso played host to Holly, falling 3-31. Charles Poag paced the defense with 6 tackles including 2 for loss. The Trojans currently sit at 1-1 and travel to Fenton this week for a Friday night game. Cam Weekly was named Trojan Lineman of the Week.



Owosso 257, Swartz Creek 203 - Owosso girls golf team traveled to Holiday Meadows for a conference match against Swartz Creek.  Owosso was led by seniors Maddie Krantz (56) and Izzey Newbury (59). Rounding out Owosso's scoring were Kennedy Peplinski (70) and Elizabeth Tolrud (72).  Neeley Peterson's medalist round (41) for Swartz Creek (203) was too much for Owosso (257) to overcome.

Owosso Boys’ Varsity Soccer Ties Waverly 1-1 in a Hard Fought Defensive Battle.  In the closing minutes of the game Riece Shattuck scored the first goal of the contest off of a deflection created by Sam Roose, earning him the assist.  Despite our best efforts defensively, Waverly was able to quickly mount a counter attack, which lead to a corner kick and subsequent goal. Notable performances by the Trojan defensive line:  Jacob Wood, Andrew Savage, Parker Omer and Nolan Thews-Aguirre. John Meihls showed another strong performance in goal with 6 saves.

The Owosso Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Swan Valley High School for non-conference play on Thursday evening. Their night began slowly when they faced Midland, falling in two sets: 3-25, 13-25. They continued their nigh by facing Montrose and were able to find their stride winning the match in two sets: 25-15, 25-23. The Trojans carried their momentum into the final match of the night when they faced host school Swan Valley. Despite a full team effort, the Trojans were unable to edge out a tough Vikings team, falling in three sets: 25-23, 18-25, 12-15. The Trojans will continue non-conference play on Saturday when they travel across town to the Corunna Invitational with play scheduled to begin at 9 am.  Tonight's top performers: Assists - McKenna Sovis (23), Reyn Tuttle (9); Blocks - Tuttle (1), Megan Vondrasek (1); Digs - Harper Newell (14), Brooke Hemker (14), Lauren Stowe (13), Vondrasek (12), Rivers (10), Tuttle (9); Kills - Newell (15), Hemker (7), Rivers (6), Vondrasek (3); Serves - Hemker (11/11), Tuttle (4 Ace), Rivers (3 Ace), Newell (3 Ace), Sovis (2 Ace)
