Tricia Cohoon '92

TRICIA COHOON MCGILLIS ‘92- The 1992 OHS Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year, Cohoon excelled as a three-sport athlete in basketball, volleyball and softball.  Tricia was a three year letter-winner in basketball and volleyball as a prep, earning all-conference awards in both sports her junior and senior seasons, including all-state honorable mention in volleyball in 1992.

Cohoon made her largest impact on the diamond, playing varsity softball for the Trojans for four years, earning all-conference honors each season.  The two-time MVP, Cohoon still holds the school record for career home runs (11), ranks second in career triples (11), and fourth in career pitching strikeouts (352).  Cohoon continued her softball career at the University of Detroit-Mercy, claiming the MCC Conference Triple Crown and the President’s Award in 1996. All-Academic twice, Cohoon ranks fourth all-time with a .391 batting average for UDM, fifth in RBI, and ninth in home runs.  In the circle, she recorded two seasons with over 100 strikeouts.
