Quote:
“We played really strong in the first half, both defensively and offensively (keeping the game at a 1-0 deficient). Our boys were able to create many quality chances on offense that just missed the mark. On defense, we did a great job of sticking with our marks, playing defense as a team, with the goal of disrupting Linden’s offensive flow of the game. Rounding out the defense, Charles DeWeese blocked many quality shots on goal to keep us in the game.
In the second half, Linden shifted into a different gear. We worked hard to continue to play a good defensive game, but Linden proved themselves to be too powerful for us to continue to contain.”
Standout Performances:
Junior - Charles DeWeese played another phenomenal game as our goalkeeper. In goal he made many great saves, his constant communication continues to help us to stay organized and his ability to read the field helps us to keep the ball moving in transition.
Sophomore - Tyler Hufnagel - Tyler got some opportunities in the midfield as well as defense tonight. Regardless of the position, Tyler has been able to demonstrate his firm grasp over his many different roles and responsibilities on this team. Tyler does a great job of leading by example with his intensity, aggression and commitment.
Senior – Taejric Thelen - Tonight Taejric was a brick wall for us on the back line. Linden would have had many more opportunities to score, had it not been for his efforts on defense. Taejric had many saves for us.
Senior – Lonnie Wisenbaugh – In the Midfield, Lonnie did an outstanding job of playing his position in offensive transition and his ability to track back and get goal-side on defense. Lonnie disrupted many offensive opportunities as well.
