Owosso XC competed in the Corunna Earlybird Invitational today at the Shiawassee County Fairgrounds. Both our girls and boys teams competed well today and we are very happy with our results. Nine out of our twelve girls ran season or personal best times while eleven of our fourteen boys also improved their times from our first meet of the season, with some already taking significant leaps forward. Our girls finished 9th out of 12 teams. Freshman Emma Johnson earned the first medal of her career with a 20th place finish (22:19). She is running really well already and has a ton of potential. Our boys finished 10th out of 12 teams, with our top runner, Jorden Sowash, taking the day off. Senior captain Mason Collard had a great race, finishing in 11th place with a time of 17:18. Mason is off to a better start than he had last year, where he ended with a 48th place finish in the state. We are looking forward to opening up the Flint Metro League season next Wednesday.
