Owosso cross country traveled to Uncle John's Cider Mill on Saturday to compete in a quad meet against host Ovid-Elsie, Perry, and Durand. Jack Smith paced all Owosso boys with a personal record 19:13 and 4th place overall finish. The boys finished behind Ovid-Elsie as a team and neither Durand nor Perry had enough runners for a team score. In the girls race it was freshman Libby Summerland that led teammates with a 3rd place finish and personal best time of 22:16. The girls team showed great improvement from our last race with many athletes cutting 30 seconds or more from their time, earning a first place team finish. We look forward to watching both teams continue to improve next weekend at Lake Fenton for our second league jamboree.
