Owosso Soccer defeated Durand, 5-1. Our team maintained their composure in a game that was highlighted by consistent physical play and hard fouls. Owosso came out flat during the first 10 minutes of the game, as we allowed an excessive number of shooting opportunities (and 1 goal) from our opponent. We quickly regrouped for the remainder of the game, as we started stringing together a number of solid passing combinations and offensive attacks.

Our defenders, Rorie Babcock, Emily Easlick, Abby Roth, and Karissa Potter, made numerous solid stops throughout the game. Keeper Adeline Mahoney made a number of impressive stops. This was our chance to give our starting keeper Izzy Jameson more field play, in turn giving Mahoney an entire 80 minutes of play in the net. The midfield attack and physicality was highlighted by the impressive play of Ainsley Lintner, Irene Fernandez, and Aisha Davis (a player who found herself on every corner of the pitch). 

Coach Reed and I were most impressed by the levelheaded play of our players, given the chippy play present in 2/3 of the game. No matter if our players were hit from behind, tripped, or fully tackled to the ground, they maintained their composure. In a game that could have resulted in multiple yellow cards (only 1 was given), our team kept their eyes on the prize, not allowing the passion of the moment get to the them. We are so proud of the way our team confronts challenges, and is able to quickly find ways to overcome adversity.
