Owosso Trojan Varsity  Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over New Lothrop

The Trojans defeated New Lothrop 12-3 thanks to a strong start. Owosso  took the lead on an error in the second inning.

In the bottom of the first inning, New Lothrop tied things up at two. J Hembesburg homered on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Owosso pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Hembesburg's wild pitch allowed one run to score for the Trojans.

Owosso tallied five runs in the seventh inning. The Trojans put the pressure on, lead by a single by Emily Pumford, an error on a ball put in play by Brionna Sarnik, and a double by Sydney Somers.

Macy Irelan earned the victory on the rubber for Owosso . The righthander went seven innings, allowing three runs on three hits, striking out 11 and walking one.

Hembesburg took the loss for New Lothrop. The bulldog surrendered seven runs on six hits over five innings, striking out two.

Owosso  had 12 hits in the game. Irelan, Lexi Hemker, and Jamie Maier all managed multiple hits for Owosso. Hemker and Irelan all had three hits to lead the Trojans.

Owosso improves to 20-3  New Lothrop's record is 26-5
