Irelan Collects Four Hits As Owosso  Defeats Swartz Creek

Four hits from Macy Irelan paved the way to victory for the Trojans over Swartz Creek 11-1 on Saturday. Irelan doubled in the first, doubled in the second, doubled in the fourth, and homered in the fifth.

Owosso  secured the victory thanks to six runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught by Owosso was led by Jamie Maier, Irelan, Kendall Anderson, Emily Pumford, and Sydney Somers, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Owosso  opened up scoring in the first inning, when Irelan doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

The Trojans scored six runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Anderson, Pumford, and Somers, a sac fly by Maier, and a double by Irelan.

Irelan was the winning pitcher. Irelan allowed five hits and one run over five innings, striking out seven and walking one.

M Zimmer took the loss for Swartz Creek. Zimmer surrendered 11 runs on 11 hits over five innings, striking out one.

Owosso  socked one home run on the day. Irelan had a dinger in the fifth inning.

Owosso  collected 11 hits. Irelan and Anderson each had multiple hits for Owosso . Irelan led Owosso  with four hits in four at bats. Owosso  was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Somers made the most plays with eight.
