The annual Phillips Cup was played today at Owosso Country Club between the Owosso Trojans and the Corunna Cavaliers.  The Trojans took back the this year in winning the match for the first time since 2019.  The tournament is played every year in memory of Jim Phillips, father of former Owosso golfer Justin Phillips and brother of former principal of Owosso High School Jeff Phillips.  Jim was a strong supporter of Owosso athletics and truly appreciated the competition between the two schools and was a huge supporter of young athletes from both schools.  He enjoyed the competition between the two schools and appreciated the friendships that became lifelong friendships through the competition.

The first nine holes of the match was a two-man best ball with three sets of scores.  The Trojans finished the front nine with a 127 and Corunna finished with a 158.  The second nine was a two man scramble with three sets of scores.  The Trojans shot a 109 and the Cavs shot a 133.  The scores for the Trojans were:
