The Trojans defeated Clio and Linden today at the Owosso Country Club.  The Trojans set a new record for the year with a fantastic 163 beating the 168 set last Thursday.  The final scores were Owosso 163 and Clio 186, Owosso 163 and Linden 172.

Seniors Jon Mazza, Ryan Dahl, and junior Owen Feldpausch tied for the best score with a 2-over par 38. Each player faced some difficulties on the course but rebounded strong to post those excellent scores. Jon birdied hole number one to start the match but then had a three putt for a bogey on number 2 and a double bogey on number three but then played the last six holes even par, with a birdie on the seventh hole. Ryan Dahl played even par until taking a double bogey on hole five but then followed up on hole 6 with a birdie.  Owen had three bogeys but added a birdie on number 5 to shoot his final score.  Tucker Lewis finished the scoring with a 49.

The Trojans play Corunna at the Owosso Country Club on Wednesday at the Phillips Cup.  The Phillips Cup is in honor longtime supporter of Owosso and Corunna athletes Jim Phillips. Jim was heavily active in officiating youth sports for both communities.  Jim passes away in 2013.  Jim's son, Justin, was the last state qualifier from Owosso.  The tournament is an 18-hole match.  The match will involve 9-hole "best ball" and a 9-hole scramble.
