Owosso Girls' Soccer played arguably its best game in 3 years, winning 3-1. After facing defeats by Clio the last 2 seasons, our team showed up ready to prove themselves. We dominated the entire match by stringing together numerous passing combinations, making countless quality stops, and showcasing 80 minutes of quality play. Recent defeats to Bath and Corunna, opponents who we could have beaten, gave our team the extra spark needed for tonight's win. Many girls stepped up to play the best games of their OHS Soccer careers. We battled for every ball and dominated the majority of the offensive attack.

The scoreline does not give justice to the sheer number of scoring opportunities developed by our team (20 shots). We had numerous other breakaways that were halted at the last second. The offensive attack tonight was consistent. Highlighting single standout players is difficult with the impressive team effort shown. Clio's only goal came from a PK, following a questionable handball call. Owosso goals came from Liz McCroan (2) and Sophie Brown. McCroan's 2nd goal was a beautiful volley from Brown's cross into the box. Brown scored a solid set piece goal. We should have scored several more goals, but had difficultly keeping the ball out of the keepers hands and the near post netting. 

We are so proud of the both Owosso teams' wins this week. The following players led tonight's physical attack: Leah Miller, Mallory Dennis, Grace Perry, Sophie Brown, and Olivia Savage. Players like Monae Pettigrew and Karissa Potter stepped up for the best game of their careers. Players continue to exhibit hard work and strong dedication to their teams. Last night, Owosso JV beat Brandon, 8-0. We look forward to a great season. Go Trojans!
