Owosso Soccer played Linden (losing 0-8) on a night when we were missing 5 Varsity players and all of our trained keepers due to a band performance conflict. Our 4th string keeper, Elizabeth McCroan readily took on role. Although this was her first time in net, she made 15 solid saves. JV players filled new roles, tonight, giving us one sub (12 total players). Although we were stifled from taking any shots on goal, our team was able to keep a solid 4-2-3-1 defensive formation. Our fullbacks (Babcock, Lintner, Easlick, and Potter) maintained their shape, forcing most shots around the top of the box. The scoreline is a result of a nonstop, 65-minute offensive attack by our opponent. However, the score does not highlight the aggressive play exemplified by Davis, Giuggioli, and Fernandez. Our team maintained a solid defensive formation in and around the box, but our opponent was simply too strong.
