KEARSLEY HIGH SCHOOL: 3
After falling behind by two goals in the first half, Owosso stepped up their 2nd half physicality. We held Kearsley to one 2nd half goal. Owosso answered with one 2nd half penalty kick by defender, Olivia Savage, who scored her first career goal. Brooklyn Fields was fouled in the box, setting up the PK. We were proud of the improved 2nd half aggressiveness as the girls started battling for every ball. Play was dominated by centerbacks, Mallory Dennis and Grace Perry, who both made their presence felt in and around the box. Keeper Lily Usher played her best game of the season, making 17 saves and controlling her space. The 1-3 final scoreline is not what anyone wanted, but we are proud of the way our team stepped up for the final 40 minutes.
