Owosso soccer fell to Linden, 0-8. We kept Linden to 2 goals during the first half. Our spacing and compact defensive formation made it difficult for Linden to convert on 28 of their 30 first half opportunities. We were impressed by our team's composure, spacing, and double-teaming in the first half.
Although, our opponent scored 8 times, Lily Usher played well, today, making 18 saves. The goals were well out of her reach. Linden stretched our defensive width during the second half, providing many attacking lanes in and around the box. Second half was a good reminder to our team about the need to stay compact and close down the central area of the box. Our players learned a great deal about formation during this tale of two halves.
Strong physical play was consistently shown by Leah Miller, Olivia Savage, Grace Perry, and Mallory Dennis. We will continue to learn and grow from today's performance.
