Owosso suffered a tough 0-7 loss to Ovid-Elsie. Owosso maintained a disciplined 1st Half defensive formation by shutting down quality shooting opportunities (18 1st half shots). Centerbacks, Mallory Dennis and Grace Perry, continue to control the backline play by helping teammates maintain their defensive shape. Each of Ovid-Elsie's three 1st Half goals were shot 20-25 yards outside the box and within a foot of the top crossbar, well out of reach of Keeper Lily Usher. These were three quality, upper net shots. Although we were down 0-3 at halftime our team had little to hang our heads about, given our composed defensive formation.

Owosso continued to play smart, physical soccer in the 2nd Half, keeping Ovid-Elsie from taking a single shot for about 20 minutes. Their first shot was another near top crossbar shot, while the final goals resulted from defensive miscues. Without a few spacing issues, the game could easily have ended with only four Ovid-Elsie goals. Our team continued to battle for every ball the entire game. Consistent, solid play was shown by Sophie Brown and Aisha Davis.
