Owosso Girls' Track and Field lost to Brandon 46-87. Despite only having 12 athletes compete today, we fought hard and had many outstanding performances. Freshman Libby Summerland made her track and field debut by winning three events. Libby took 1st place in the 800, 3200, and was a part of the winning 4x200m relay team (along with teammates Nevaeh Mishler, Claire Agnew, and Michaela Nichols). Senior Alaina Poggiali also had a great day by winning both shot put and discus. Rounding out our first place finishers was junior Keera Barnhill who won high jump. 2nd place finishers for Owosso include Claire Agnew in both the 200 and 400 and Michaela Nichols in long jump. Earning 3rd place for the Trojans was Kaitlyn Cummings in the 100 and high jump, Michaela Nichols in the 400, Emma Johnson in the mile and 2 mile, Nevaeh Mishler in the 100 hurdles, and Cassie Gillett in discus. I love the effort these girls put into their events and I can't wait to see how much they all grow throughout the season.
