Owosso track and field opened the outdoor season on Wednesday at the Fowlerville Early Season Open. A meet that was originally designed to be a non-scored, tune up meet between 3 or 4 teams turned into a 10 team invitational with entry limits. However, since it was still unscored and there were no medals, we did not enter the meet trying to maximize our potential. Many athletes competed in only 1 or 2 events during the cold, extremely wet meet. The harsh weather even prevented our athletes from competing in pole vault and high jump. However, despite all of that, I am proud of all my girls for showing grit and competing so hard. We even had some top 3 finishers:

200m dash: Libby Summerland (1st place) and Claire Agnew (3rd place)

800m run: Onna West - 3rd place

3200m run: Josie Jenkinson - 3rd place

4x100m relay: Michaela Nichols, Claire Agnew, Kyle Bermudez, and Libby Summerland - 2nd place

4x800m relay: Emma Johnson, Mira Sivulka, Onna West, and Josie Jenkinson - 1st place

Shot Put: Delaina Peterson - 3rd place

Our invite on Friday in Ithaca was canceled, so our next meet will be home next Wednesday in our FML opener against Brandon.
