Owosso track and field traveled to Lake Fenton on Wednesday for a double dual against Lake Fenton and Clio. Unfortunately, we were unable to come away with a win against either school, losing 77-59 to Lake Fenton and 81-51 against Clio. Injuries were definitely a factor in both meets as on paper we had a slight advantage going in. Despite the injuries and a couple slow relay times, we had many positive performances. 

Libby Summerland remains undefeated in the 100m, 200m, and 400m against Flint Metro opponents as she won all three events on Wednesday. Having never even run a 100m prior to last week, Libby is a true example of what hard work can accomplish. 

Peyton Spicer also remains on top of the FML standings with another 4'10" high jump, just clipping 5'0" with her heels. After not high jumping for 3 years, this sophomore still has a lot of growth potential. She also finished 1st against Lake Fenton in both shot put and discus (with a personal best throw in discus), and 2nd and 3rd against Clio respectively.

Even after running a great leg of the 4x800m relay, Claire Agnew was still able to easily win pole vault and finish 3rd against Clio in the 200m.

After running a personal best split in the 4x800 relay, a leg in the 4x200 relay, and finishing 3rd place against Clio in the 1600, Julionna (Onna) West still managed a 1st place finish against Lake Fenton and a 2nd place finish against Clio in the 800m. After that many tough races in one meet, it was impressive that she was able to walk, let alone finish as well as she did in the 800m!

Emma Johnson also came out with a win over Clio in the 3200m (3rd place against Lake Fenton). She also managed a 2nd place finish against both Lake Fenton and Clio. Emma's 3200m time was a personal best and her 1600m was a season best. 

Other top 3 performances included:

Kyle Bermudez: 2nd in pole vault and 100m, and 3rd against Clio in the 100m hurdles.

Makenna Gregory: 2nd to Lake Fenton and 3rd to Clio in the 300m hurdles.

Courtney Lott: 3rd place to both school in long jump and 3rd place against Lake Fenton in the 300m hurdles.

Delaina Peterson: 2nd to Lake Fenton in shot put and 3rd against Lake Fenton in discus.

We will be back in action next Wednesday when we travel to take on Goodrich.
