Owosso traveled to Goodrich on Wednesday to take on a very talented and undefeated team. Even though we were lost 49-87, there were many great things that came out of the meet. The biggest moment of the meet was once again produced by pole vault star Claire Agnew, who for the 4th time now has broke the school record in pole vault. Claire's vault of 10'3" is currently ranked third in the state, just 6" out of first. I can't wait to see what she can really do once we get a nice weather meet! Claire also finished 3rd in the 400m dash.

Also improving her PR and putting herself all alone in the top stop in the region at high jump was Peyton Spicer. Peyton's jump of 4'11" is 3" from an automatic qualifying spot for the state meet as well as only 4" from our school record. Peyton also finished 2nd in both shot put and discus.

Libby Summerland remained undefeated in the 200m dash as she came from behind to snag a win by .01 seconds over a very fast Alleta Brandon of Goodrich. Libby also finished in 2nd in the 400m dash and pole vault (where she remains ranked 2nd and 3rd in the region respectively). 

Finally, Kyle Bermudez was able to earn a win in the 100m hurdles. She also finished 2nd in the 300m hurdles in her first time running the race and 3rd in pole vault with a PR tying 8'.

Other top 3 performances:

Michaela Nichols earned 2nd place finishes in both the 100m dash as well as long jump.

Onna West came away with a 2nd place finish in the 800m run.

Keera Barnhill was able to finish 3rd in high jump.

Delaina Peterson also earned a 3rd place finish in discus.

Finally, Aria Wilson took 3rd in long jump.

Owosso will travel to Chesaning on Friday for an invitational with 15 other schools.
