At this point in the year I am very proud of the way we have been competing and very excited about the direction we are headed. Many athletes continue to hit PR after PR and show amazing grit and determination in their performances. Friday was no exception.

Peyton Spicer and Claire Agnew provided the highest finishes of the night, each winning an event. Peyton won high jump with a jump of 5’0” and Claire won pole vault with a height of 11’0”. Each went on to win another medal with a PR performance. Peyton threw a personal best 90’5” in discus, finishing 5th and moving her to the top regional seed. Claire ran a very solid leg of the 4x400m relay that cut 10 seconds off of their best time this season, chasing down a girl and finishing 4th in 4:24.34 (also earning the top seed in the region).

Libby Summerland once again had an impressive day, finishing with the most points of the meet for Owosso. Libby earned a 2nd place finish in pole vault with a vault of 10’0”. She also hit a season record with a 3rd place finish in the 400 with a time of 1:01.43. Finally, she ran the fastest leg of the 4th place 4x400m relay team.

Emma Crandell had a monster performance on Friday with a 3rd place finish and PR in the 3200m with a time of 12:06.23 (2nd in the region). She also ran 2 great legs on both the aforementioned 4x400m relay as well as the 3200m relay team that finished 5th with a season best 11:00.67.

Every time Gabi Hufnagel has stepped on the track for the 300m hurdles this season, she has set a new PR. On Friday she was able to cut another .47 seconds off of her time on her way to a 3rd place finish with a time of 51.18 (2nd in the region). Gabi also ran her best leg of the year on the 4x400m relay team.

Kyle Bermudez also had a great evening, finishing 6th and earning medals in both the long jump (a PR jump of 14’6.75”) as well as pole vault (a SR of 8’6”). She also added an 8th place finish in the 100m hurdles with a time of 18.61.

Rounding out our medal winners were the other members of the 4x800m relay team, who are each improving meet after meet: Emma Johnson, Natalie Summerland, and Julionna West.

Also earning PRs during the meet were Khloe Muzzy in the 100m and 200m, Natalie Summerland and Emma Johnson in the 800m, Makenna Gregory in the 100m hurdles, and Desiree Mofield in shot put and discus.
