Owosso traveled to Springfield Oaks County Park to compete in the second of three Flint Metro League Jamborees on Wednesday. After 18 days off since our last race, our girls were chomping at the bit to get back in action and see what all their training these past couple weeks did for them. Even though it wasn't the easiest course, our girls went out and killed it. 3 of our 7 girls were able to earn personal best times while 3 more hit season best times on their way to a 3rd place finish behind Goodrich and Fenton.
1. Goodrich 45 2. Fenton 59 3. Owosso 79 4. Flushing 107 etc.
Libby Summerland had a career day, breaking the 20 minute barrier for the first time on her way to a 4th place finish (19:48). Josie Jenkinson continues to inch closer to full health and where she left off with a nice 6th place finish in 20:07. Emma Crandell has shaken off the injury that slowed her down 3 weeks ago and managed an impressive 15th place finish and PR of 20:56. Julionna West continued to prove just how tough she is as she gritted out a 17th place finish while battling with a hip injury that has ailed her for the entire season plus (20:57). Claire Agnew and Emma Johnson came in next for Owosso in 37th and 39th, running 22:35 and 22:53. Finally, Natalie Summerland chopped an entire 2 minutes off her time on her way to a 43rd place finish in 23:11.
