Owosso cross country opened their season on Friday night at the St. Johns Under the Lights Invite. This meet is often our athletes' favorite meet of the year as start times are 10:00 PM for boys and 11:00 PM for girls and athletes race often wearing glow gear. 

Our girls had a fantastic night, where 4 athletes managed to finish in the top 25. There were several impressive performances in this race. Libby Summerland and Onna West picked up where they left off last season, earning medals for their 12th and 17th place finishes. Freshman Emma Crandell had an amazing start to her high school running career with a 22nd place finish, just 2 seconds from her first medal. Our final 2 runners were the most impressive though. Claire Agnew managed to set a 43 second personal best time, including nearly a 3 minute improvement on her time from this meet just 1 year ago. Finally, after being unable to run for an entire year due to medical issues, Natalie Summerland showed just how tough and resilient she is. Even after only running for a few weeks, Nat was still able to finish with a time of 25:01, beating more than half of all runners in the race!
