Owosso cross country traveled to the Shiawassee County Fairgrounds on Tuesday to compete in the Corunna Early Bird Invitational. We competed in the medium school division against 9 other teams and finished in 3rd place to two very talented teams.

Individually we also had a great showing with 4 of our runners coming away with medals, including 2 in the top 10. On a windy and hilly day Libby Summerland still managed to run 15 seconds faster than she did 11 days ago on a flat course on her way to a 5th place overall finish at 20:44. Onna West came away with a 10th place finish, just two seconds from her time last meet (21:20) despite missing all of last week due to an injury. Next up was freshman Emma Crandell who took home an 18th place medal with a time of 21:57. Claire Agnew again showcased her improved xc speed with a 21st place finish in 22:18. Senior leader and captain Emma Johnson got her first race of the season under her belt and came away with a 35th place finish.

We will open up our Flint Metro League season next Wednesday in a 12 school Jamboree hosted by Flint Kearsley.
