Owosso traveled to the Shiawassee County Fairgrounds on Tuesday to compete against 9 other schools in the Corunna Early Bird Cross Country Invitational. Today was our first look at the insanely talented Goodrich conference champs and they are every bit as tough as we could imagine. Poised to be one of the top teams in the state this season, they finished 5 girls before any other team finished their top runner and ran away with the win. However, outside of Goodrich, Owosso was able to bring home a 2nd place trophy with all 5 girls earning medals and finishing in the top 21. 

Emma Crandell lead all Trojans with a 7th place finish in 21:13. Next was an impressive 10th place run by Onna West who is starting to find her stride with a time of 21:35. Libby Summerland finished in 16th (22:16), which was quite the gritty race after missing a week of running with a sickness. Natalie Summerland came in just 2 places later in 18th with a time of 22:22. Finally, Skotti Ball-Duley is already seeing huge growth as she cut over a minute off her time on a tougher course on her way to a 21st place finish in 23:24.
